Contraception

Conteraception  : It involves different techniques to avoid pregnency . These methods may involve natural methods and artificial methods. These methods have been developed mainly  to control the population and other medical issues. There are different methods to avoid pregnency. They can be broadly classified as

1. Hormonal methods :  This method involves changing the amount  of different hormones in the body. This method is applicable for females. It consist steroid hormones that comprise both oral and injectable methods.This is the most effective mean of contraception.

2. Mechanicla barrier  : These are the devices that prevent pregnancy by blocking the entry of sperm into the uterus.Some of these includes condoms, diaphargm, cervicla caps, spermicidal creams etc. This method also includes some natural ways of avoiding pregnancy like periodic abstinence, Coitus interruptus, lactational amenorrhea etc.

3. Surgical method  : It is the permanent and terminal method of avoiding pregnancy. It is very effective but non reversible method. It involves blocking the passage of sperm and fertilized ovum.

Birth Control  :  Numbers of family welfare centers have been established in India with following objectives:

1. Knowledge and advice on methods of birth control.

2. To control growth of population.  

3. To promote adoption of small families.

4. Immunization against Anemia and Vitamin A deficiency of children.

5. Reduction of infant mortality rate.
